i sent these kitten postcards out to four of my best friends... sadly, they are all cat lovers... maybe i should reassess my criteria for friendship.  (only dog lovers from now on...)

whether they love pets of the feline or canine persuasion, they love me and i love them... sooooo... i hope they enjoy their kittehs!

i always get such great church postcards from russia... and this one is from st. petersburg... it features the naval cathedral of st. nicholas and the epiphany, a beautiful cathedral.

i can only imagine the music that has been sung in this place of worship, for centuries... such as this and this...

i sent a postcard of this awesome painting to poland... it is salvador dali's 'swans reflecting elephants' (look close a the swans' reflections).  i'm not sure of this recipient is male or female, but they are 19 and like a lot of the things that i do... they play piano and go to school for music!  i hope they like the dali card... they said that all postcards are welcome... so i sent one i like. :D

i got an awesomely, beautful postcard from belarus today.  it features the catholic church of the holiest virgin mary's rest in minsk.  it is said that this church has a beautiful interior... this church was built in honor of the virgin mary.  mary just happens to be subject of a lot of church music, and some of my favorites... here is a link to the medieval chant that goes straight into the renaissance motet by tomas luis de victoria... victoria based his composition off of the original chant, althought the chant was written several centuries before victoria.

i got a birthday postcard from my sisters today!  thank you so much!  yippee!!!

i had an amazing 25th birthday... i had dinner with some of the people i love most, and then went and hung out with keith and made some music and drank some beer... when i got dropped off at midnight i figured i'd check the mail... and lo and behold... the only thing in the mailbox was this lovely postcard!  i love my sisters so much and this card was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening!

i really like this postcard.  one of my favorites so far... very simple, elegant, and straight to the point... a beautiful shot of a gorgeous church... and i got it on my birthday... it doesn't get much better than that!  :D

maria likes cathedrals... a girl after my own heart... i had JUST written a postcard with a cathedral, so i sent her a nice, small church in vermont...

i got this card this weekend while i was in austin... my sisters and i went to half priced books... they keep vintage postcards in the rare books collection, and you can go through and find ones you like... we only had about ten minutes before they closed, but we found some good ones...  this is one of the cards i got.

today, i parted with another one of my favorites... this is a postcard from carnegie hall... normally, i would never send it, because it was my last copy of this card... however, it's going to a 14 year old girl in finland who plays the violin.  i reminded her to practice daily and always follow her heart... so, maybe this card will positively affect her and she will continue to play throughout her life!

i got this super cool card from nataša in slovakia!  it is of the late pope john paul ii.  the front says "god bless slovakia!"  (i'm assuming that's what the pope said during his visit there...)  not only is the card of the pope, but one of the stamps is of the late pope as well.

i am so grateful that nataša uploaded this image before she sent it, because the text got covered in the postal process and i would have never known that there were words on the front!

definitely one of my favorites!

a card from russia always makes my day!  and one covered in glitter always makes my month!

i have just fallen in love with russia recently... so this card made me really happy... AND it has a fish!  i wish i knew what it reads on the front, but i like that the fish is wearing a crown and is in a glass of something (maybe alcoholic?!)

heike and gebhard (aka loopi) sent me this postcard from deutschland... they say "a postcard related to music is a difficult task here in bavaria (and sorry, no hippos in southern germany)"  i don't know if it was meant to be humorous, but i thought it was hilarious.  they go on to to say that they sent a postcard of dancers because  the joy of dancing is universal.  :D  if only they knew how i dance around my house like i have lost my mind...
